About
Mr Bolland pursued undergraduate training at St Mary's Hospital, London. Orthopaedic training was undertaken in the Wessex region, where a particular interest in lower limb and revision arthroplasty, trauma and related research was developed. A Masters degree was completed in the field of Impaction Bone Grafting, from which multiple prizes and publications were awarded. Interest and experience in revision lower limb arthroplasty was consolidated via two fellowships in Exeter (Prof Ling Hip Fellow) and Bournemouth (specialist fellowship in trabecular metal reconstructions).
He introduced Day Case hip and knee joint replacement pathways at his local hospital - the success of which was recognised nationally with the Gold medal Prize at the HSJ awards in 2024.
He sits on the Executive Committee of the British Hip Society in the role of Treasurer. He has additional roles in the society in both the Professional Affairs and Research Committees.
He acts a Key opinion Leader (Expert) holdng visitations from surgeons to watch and understand the nuances of various hip and knee procedures. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience teaching on National and International Courses to both trainees and fellow orthopaedic Surgeons.
