About Mr Areeb Moosavi
Mr Areeb Moosavi has 21 years of experience working as an Ophthalmologist. He is currently the Lead Glaucoma Specialist at Milton Keynes University Hospital, having set up the Glaucoma Service there. He also sees both NHS and Private patients at Blakelands Hospital in Milton Keynes.
He has experience in general ophthalmology and his main area of specialist expertise is in the medical and surgical management of Glaucoma including glaucoma laser treatments, and in cataract surgery.
With the patient experience in mind, also set up a Glaucoma Patients' Support Group, held bi-annually to help keep patients informed about Glaucoma and the latest treatments and provide support.
Mr Moosavi obtained his Medical Degree (MBBS) in 1998 from King's College in London. Prior to this, he obtained a BSc in Human Physiology in 1992 from Kings College in London. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a member of the British Medical Association. His first Ophthalmology post was at Worthing Hospital in West Sussex after which he trained at The Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre. His Registrar and senior Registrar Training were at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. He has specialised in Glaucoma, having completed 2 Glaucoma Fellowships at Moorfields before taking up a substantive NHS Consultant Post at Milton Keynes University Hospital in 2013.
