Mr Ammar Alhasso is a Consultant Urological Surgeon currently seeing private patients at Spire Edinburgh Hospitals Murrayfield and Shawfair Park as well as Nuffield Health Edinburgh Hospital, Edinburgh Urology Specialists, St. Ellen's Hospital and The Waterfront Private Hospital.
He completed his medical degree at the University of Mosul, Iraq in 1989. He acquired extensive experience in surgical specialties abroad before undertaking basic surgical training at King's College London. Following this, he served as a research fellow for a year at Imperial College London, focusing on bladder cancer. During this time, he earned a Master’s degree (MSc) in Surgical Sciences in 2000. His urology training was completed in East Scotland, with a specialisation in female and reconstructive urology.
Assuming his current position as a Consultant Urological Surgeon in January 2008, Mr Alhasso contributes actively to the Cochrane Collaboration/Incontinence group as a reviewer. He has authored systematic reviews and meta-analyses on urinary incontinence.
In his practice, Mr Alhasso offers a range of treatments and tests, including prostate screening and surgery, cystoscopy, female urology procedures, circumcision, and prostate laser treatment.
