Professor Alwyn D'Souza is a Consultant ENT (Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery) and Facial plastic surgeon specialising in complex nasal and facial surgery. He has a wealth of experience in his field and is recognised by all major national and international health insurance providers.

Professor D'Souza is well known for his extensive experience and expertise, so large number of patients are referred to his clinic for second opinion and revision procedures both from the UK and abroad. His NHS base is University Hospital Lewisham - as the clinical lead, he runs a state-of-the-art combined dermatology - facial plastic and reconstructive surgery clinic in conjunction with dermatology.

Professor D'Souza undertook his basic medical training at St John's institute of medical sciences Bangalore, after which he proceeded with his post graduate training in the UK, rotating through teaching hospitals in the UK and Ireland and was awarded CCT by the Medical Royal Colleges. During his senior registrar training he was awarded the prestigious TWJ Fellowship to San Francisco (UCSF). He obtained further training in Facial plastic surgery in Europe, Canada and USA. He holds the fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh as well as dual certification of the European and the International Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During his specialist registrar training period Alwyn concurrently obtained additional qualifications in Medical training (PGCertMedEd) at Cardiff University and a BTEC in Laser Technology.

Due to his excellence, Professor D'Souza has a number of societal positions and has held office of President of British society of Facial Plastic Surgery, and is the current President of The European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS.org). In addition to this, he is the Editor-in-chief for the peer reviewed ‘Facial Plastic Surgery Journal' by Thieme publishers. Professor D'Souza publishes extensively, research and review articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and has authored several textbook chapters.

Professor D'Souza is a key opinion leader, an invited speaker to both national and international conferences and is an examiner for postgraduate examinations both in ENT (otolaryngology) and Facial Plastic Surgery. He is a dedicated teacher and is the founder of Medical training courses: a body which provides medical school entry courses, GP courses, and facial plastic surgery courses for trainees and consultants.

His fellowship programme provides super-specialist training in Facial Plastic Surgery to suitably qualified surgeons from around the world leading to certification in Facial plastic surgery on completion of due examination and certification process.
