He later relocated to the UK and became a Fellow in Otolaryngology of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1993 and a Fellow in Otorhinolaryngology and Head-Neck Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1998. Mr Chidambaram completed his higher surgical training in ENT in 2002 and was appointed as a consultant in 2003.
Mr Chidambaram has expertise in a wide range of ENT conditions, including paediatric ENT, otology, rhinology, and various benign neck and throat conditions. In Paediatric ENT, Mr Chidambaram excels in procedures such as tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, grommet insertion, myringoplasty, mastoid surgery, and the treatment of nosebleeds, as well as the removal of wax and foreign bodies.
In otology, his proficiency extends to addressing ear disorders, including infections, hearing impairment, myringoplasty, mastoid surgery, ear cleaning, and wax removal. In rhinology, he has expertise in the management of sinusitis (FESS), nasal polyps (nasal polypectomy), rhinitis, nasal obstruction (septoplasty, turbinate reduction surgery), nasal allergy, and treatment for nosebleeds in adults.
Mr Chidambaram also offers expertise in managing benign neck conditions, excluding thyroid and parathyroid issues, and addressing throat conditions such as tonsillectomy, surgery for snoring, treatment for voice change, and acid reflux. Additionally, his skills extend to handling various benign neck conditions, including thyroglossal cyst, branchial cyst, salivary gland stones and swelling, enlarged lymph glands in the neck, sebaceous cysts and lipomas.
