Grainne Bourke has been a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in Leeds since 2004, with extensive expertise across both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. She is actively involved in teaching, training, and advancing the fields of plastic, hand, and cosmetic surgery at both national and international levels.
Her specialist interests include children’s hand surgery, major nerve injury, and microsurgery. Ms Bourke continues to contribute to the field through published research in peer-reviewed journals and has authored numerous book chapters, including contributions to the Oxford Textbook of Plastic Surgery and the Oxford Textbook of Neurosurgery.
She has been invited to speak at leading national and international meetings including British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons(BAAPS), British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons(BAPRAS), and British Society for Surgery of the Hand(BSSH).
In 2024 she was the President of the BSSH delivering two highly successful national meeting and leading the new 5 year Strategy for the society.
