Micheli Romao is a registered member of the
Psychological Society of Ireland and the Irish Council for Psychotherapy, with
over 15 years of experience working in mental health. She completed her
academic training in Psychology at Trinity College Dublin and the Mater
University Hospital, followed by clinical training in Psychoanalytic
Psychotherapy at the School of Psychotherapy, St. Vincent’s University
Hospital. She is also a trained Lacanian Psychoanalyst.
Micheli specialises in working with trauma and with neurodivergent clients,
particularly Autism and ADHD. Her approach is neurodiversity-affirmative,
trauma-informed, and integrative, blending deep psychotherapeutic work with
practical strategies to support resilience, wellbeing, and long-term growth.
She draws on a range of evidence-based approaches including Motivational
Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour
Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Psychoanalytic
Psychotherapy. Each treatment is tailored to the individual, with an emphasis
on the mind–body connection and empowering clients to live with greater
self-understanding and confidence.
Micheli currently works at Vhi Health and Wellbeing as an Integrative Health
Specialist and Health Coach, and is also the founder of Shooting Star
Psychology and Psychotherapy, a clinic dedicated to resilience, lifestyle
transformation, and psychological healing. She supports individuals and groups
with a wide range of concerns including trauma recovery, anxiety, depression,
eating disorders, addictions, bereavement, and relationship challenges.
