Mazen Al Taher is a highly experienced dermatologist and dermato-venereologist with a career spanning several decades across the Middle East and Europe. He qualified with an MB.B.CH (equivalent to an MD) from Cairo University in 1970 and went on to complete further specialist training, including a Diploma in Plastic Surgery in the Netherlands, a Master’s degree in Dermatology and Venereology from Ain Shams University, and a Diploma in Venereology in London.
Dr Al Taher has held a wide range of senior clinical roles throughout his career. He currently practices as a Dermatologist at Ibn Sina Medical Center in Abu Dhabi, having previously worked at Oxford Medical Center (NMC Group). Earlier in his career, he served as Head of the Dermatology Department at the Directorate of Medical Services Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
His clinical work covers both medical and aesthetic dermatology. He manages a broad spectrum of skin conditions, including dermatological diseases, venereological conditions and acne, while also offering advanced cosmetic treatments such as laser therapies, chemical peels, microdermabrasion and skin rejuvenation procedures. He is experienced in performing Botox treatments for both cosmetic purposes and medical conditions such as hyperhidrosis, as well as PRP therapy, mesotherapy, cryotherapy and minor surgical procedures under local anaesthesia.
Dr Al Taher has a strong academic and professional presence, with longstanding memberships in leading international organisations, including the American Academy of Dermatology and the International Society of Dermatology. He has actively participated in national and international conferences and has contributed to clinical research, including work on dermatological conditions such as adenoma sebaceum.
His contributions have been recognised with multiple awards, including a medal for excellent service in military hospitals in Abu Dhabi and photographic awards in regional dermatology competitions. With decades of experience and a broad skill set, he is known for delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care across both medical and cosmetic dermatology.
