Dort erwarb er umfassende Erfahrung in der orthopädischen Versorgung von Patient:innen aller Altersgruppen, von angeborenen Fehlstellungen über Sportverletzungen bis hin zu degenerativen Gelenkerkrankungen.
Nach Abschluss der Facharztausbildung im Jahr 2009 vertiefte Prof. Pietschmann seine klinische und wissenschaftliche Tätigkeit. Er habilitierte sich im Fach Orthopädie und Unfallchirurgie und wurde 2015 zum außerplanmäßigen Professor an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München ernannt. Seine operative Tätigkeit umfasst sowohl gelenkerhaltende arthroskopische und offene Verfahren als auch endoprothetische Versorgungen, insbesondere an Knie- und Hüftgelenken. Darüber hinaus behandelt er Erkrankungen der Schulter, des Ellenbogens, der Hand und des Sprunggelenks.
Er verfügt über zahlreiche Zusatzqualifikationen, darunter in der arthroskopischen Chirurgie, Endoprothetik, manueller Medizin, Akupunktur und psychosomatischer Grundversorgung.
