About
Dr. Zbaeda's core competencies include general paediatrics and neonatal medicine, paediatric respiratory medicine, allergies, child protection, medical education, and training. He holds a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from the National University of Ireland, a Master of Science in Paediatrics (MSc) from University College London (UCL), and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Royal College of Physicians in London. Additionally, Dr. Zbaeda is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) in the UK and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (FRCPI).
Dr. Zbaeda's journey in medicine began in Tripoli, Libya, where he qualified in 1982. He moved to Ireland in 1985 for postgraduate training and later to the North West of England, where he continued his paediatric training. In 1995, he was appointed as a Consultant Paediatrician at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust in England, where he later became Clinical Director of Child Health Services. In this role, he was not only responsible for clinical services but also served as the RCPCH Clinical Tutor, supervising trainees and managing the educational program. He also led the neonatology and respiratory medicine services in his department.
In 2010, Dr. Zbaeda moved to the UAE, where he served as a Consultant Paediatrician at Al-Ain Hospital (SEHA) and subsequently as Chief of Paediatrics. Before joining the Mediclinic Group, he held the position of Medical Director for Amana Healthcare Medical & Rehabilitation Hospital and later for Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center. Since December 2018, Dr. Zbaeda has been with Mediclinic Middle East, serving initially in Al-Ain and then at Al-Noor Hospital in Abu Dhabi as a Consultant Paediatrician and Medical Director.
