Ms. Maryam Edraki is a highly skilled and compassionate Diabetes Educator with a BSc in Nursing from Iran and advanced specialised training in diabetes care from UK universities. With a strong passion for improving the lives of individuals living with diabetes, she has made significant contributions to diabetes education, management, and telemedicine services, and contributed in research in diabetic retinopathy screening.
With expertise across a broad range of diabetes types, including Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), Type 2 Diabetes (T2D), Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA), Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY), and Gestational Diabetes (GDM), Ms. Edraki works closely with patients to create personalised treatment plans. Her comprehensive approach includes nutrition counseling, medication management, diabetes technology education (insulin pump certified), and lifestyle modifications to help patients achieve optimal health outcomes.
Ms. Edraki is committed to empowering patients and their families with the knowledge and tools they need for self-management of diabetes. She works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care and ensure patients are supported throughout their diabetes journey.

Ms Maryam was also chairperson for the Emirates Diabetes & Endocrine Congress (EDEC) in 2023 and 2025, which is the region's premier platform to update attendees on the recent advances in the ever-changing field of diabetes and endocrine diseases. Additionally, Ms. Mariam is part of the Diabetes Educator Society UAE - scoiety board memeber.
