About
In 1998, he performed the first phacoemulsification cataract procedure in Damascus, Syria, revolutionising cataract surgery in the region. He is currently a senior consultant at Barts Healthcare Authority, where he is involved in the mentorship of trainee ophthalmologists in addition to his clinical work. He has also served as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, contributing to education and research.
Mr Ghabra is also the co-founder of MAG Optics Inc., a Boston-based ophthalmic device innovation company within Johnson & Johnson's JLabs incubator. The company focuses on developing groundbreaking technology to address unmet needs in eye care, with its first FDA study underway.
His work blends advanced clinical techniques, device innovation, and business acumen, offering a holistic approach to ophthalmology. Outside the clinic, Mr Ghabra continues to influence the field globally, ensuring the Harley Street Eye Centre remains a leader in eye care advancements.
