Dr. Manegold begann direkt nach dem Studium der Humanmedizin an der Georg-August-Universität Göttingen 2003 seine medizinische Laufbahn als Assistenzarzt am Centrum für Muskuloskeletale Chirurgie der Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Schon früh spezialisierte er sich auf dem Gebiet der Fuß- und Sprunggelenkchirurgie, so dass er 2010 die Leitung dieser Sektion - zuletzt Standortübergreifend - an der Berliner Charité übernahm.
Nach mehrjähriger klinischer Tätigkeit als Leitender Arzt wechselte Dr. Manegold von der Charité an die BG Unfallklinik Frankfurt am Main. Er übernahm die Chefarztnachfolge von Dr. Hans-Peter Abt, der die Abteilung zuvor leitete. 
PD Dr. med. Manegold beschäftigt sich seit vielen Jahren wissenschaftlich mit fußchirurgischen Fragestellungen. Er ist Autor und Co-Autor zahlreicher Originalarbeiten und auf dem Gebiet der Orthopädie und Unfallchirurgie habilitiert. 
Die Abteilung Fußtraumatologie und -orthopädie an der BG Unfallklinik Frankfurt genießt national einen exzellenten Ruf innerhalb der Fußchirurgie, so dass insbesondere Spitzensportler und Olympioniken, auf die langjährige Erfahrung von Chefarzt Manegold und seinem Team vertrauen.
