Miss Mairead Lucy Horsfall

I’m Mairead Lucy an experienced physiotherapist with advanced training in women’s health, pelvic health and sports physiotherapy. I’m a women’s health, sports and pelvic floor physiotherapist, founder of Pelican Health in Langwarrin, and a mum of three. I know firsthand how hard it can be to access quality care during life’s biggest transitions. I channel my time and energy into empowering women and those with female-health concerns to enjoy movement through life! It is part of my  a lifelong belief that women and those with female-specific health concerns deserve informed, not adapted, healthcare. Here’s what fires me up: • Women in Australia have one of the lowest physical activity rates globally and live with lower quality of life and higher rates of chronic pain than males! • Meanwhile, research keeps showing that physiotherapy offers better outcomes, fewer side effects and greater cost-effectiveness than many surgeries — especially for women’s and pelvic health. So why are we still “just doing our Kegels” in the dark without really knowing how and hoping for the best?  Strong, pain-free and proud of their bodies should be the norm for Aussie girls and women. From puberty to pregnancy, postpartum to menopause, I am here to empower you to run, lift, play and live with the kind of expert support you should’ve had all along.  I am proudly inclusive, LGBTQIA+ safe, and available Australia-wide via telehealth.  If you’ve ever felt unseen in the healthcare system, you’re not alone — and you’re not broken.
