About Dr Liz Perry
Dr Liz Perry is a highly respected consultant rheumatologist and clinical lead for the rheumatology service at the University Hospitals of Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). With specialist training in sports medicine, general medicine, and rheumatology, Dr Perry brings a comprehensive skill set to support the delivery of expert rheumatology care. Working closely with her patients, Dr Perry practices evidence-based management tailored to individual needs and well-being, promoting shared decision-making while considering each patient's unique circumstances. She is skilled in therapeutic soft tissue injections, joint injections and in diagnostic small joint musculoskeletal ultrasound, which she performs one-stop within her rheumatology clinics to aid early diagnosis and to support clinical decision-making. Dr Perry leads the early inflammatory arthritis service at UHBW and has been pivotal delivering service re-design to support best practice for the Bristol region. Dr Perry is a leader in the field of rheumatology with extensive experience in teaching, research,service improvement and a track record of delivering multi-agency projects. She strives to support first-class rheumatology care for her patients and to drive forward rheumatology services at local and national level. https://rheumatologyconsultingservices.co.uk/ Services Provided: • Therapeutic soft tissue injections • Joint injections • Diagnostic small joint musculoskeletal ultrasound • Management of early inflammatory arthritis • Treatment of various rheumatic diseases and musculoskeletal conditions, including: • Inflammatory arthritis (e.g., Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis) • Inflammatory back pain (e.g., Ankylosing Spondylitis) • Large vessel vasculitis (e.g., Giant Cell Arteritis) • Polymyalgia • Small vessel vasculitis • Autoimmune connective tissue diseases (e.g., Sjögren's Syndrome, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) • Gout • Osteoarthritis • Back pain • Soft tissue musculoskeletal presentations (e.g., tendinopathies, bursitis) At National Level Dr Perry is an active member of the British Society of Rheumatology (BSR) Rheumatoid Arthritis related interstitial lung disease (ILD) special interest group and of the BSR national guideline development group responsible for guidelines for the diagnosis and management of systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease-ILD (SARD-ILD). Dr Perry worked as chief investigator for an National NIHR CRN portfolio study, has been awarded £77268 of research funding and completed collaborative research with The Kennedy Institute, Oxford. She has full and current Good ClinicalPractice training and has multiple peer-reviewed publications including research papers, textbook chapters and clinical abstracts. Her research covers many areas of rheumatology, but with a particular focus on systemic autoimmune rheumatic lung diseases.
