Dr. Laura Elena Tepelus is a highly experienced Occupational Medicine Specialist and the founding member & Managing Director of MediSense Clinic. With over 20 years of experience in Occupational Medicine, Off-shore Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Adult Vaccination and Travel Medicine, Family Medicine and General Medical services, she is a DHA licensed and certified doctor in various medical specialties.
Dr. Tepelus is the first Occupational Medicine Specialist in UAE, having received her DHA license in January 2005. She also holds a Master Degree in Clinical and Occupational Toxicology since 2007 and is an offshore – OGUK (formerly UKOOA) certified doctor, certified for conducting Norwegian offshore medicals since 2014, and approved Bermuda seafarers medical provider since 2018.
Before founding MediSense Clinic, Dr. Tepelus worked with Occupational Health International Clinic as Medical Director and Occupational Medicine Specialist for over 11 years, establishing the bases of a well-organised centre, with high-quality occupational health and general medical services, supporting clients from different industries. She also took part and initiative in developing the first Occupational Health Department in Cedars – Jebel Ali International Hospital in Dubai, where she practiced her specialty for almost 8 years.
Dr. Tepelus is a member of the Romanian Medical College of Doctors, member of Gulf Occupational and Environmental Medicine Group, the Infection Control Network Committee, Dubai, member of Emirates Medical Association (EMA), she was Vice-president of Occupational Medicine Society UAE in 2019, and she is also a member of DHA Special Purpose Group (SPG).
Her areas of professional interest include occupational medicine, clinical and industrial toxicology, industrial hygiene, preventive medicine, vaccination and travel medicine, offshore and aviation medicine, stress management, infection control, and implementation of quality, health and safety related standards in all her areas of work. She is dedicated to the patients' health, safety, and wellbeing, and strives to provide high-quality standards and efficiency to serve the requirements of various industries.
