She later worked as a Consultant at the Medical Care Centre in Damascus before returning to the UK as a Clinical Fellow and Academic Tutor at Royal Gwent University Hospital, Newport. She has since held consultant positions at Dubai Hospital and Dubai Healthcare City.

Her clinical expertise includes high-risk pregnancy, diabetes in pregnancy, miscarriage management, infertility assessment, colposcopy, management of abnormal smears and HPV infection, laparoscopic surgery, hysterectomy, myomectomy, and perineal repair. Dr Alani is fluent in Arabic and English.
