About
He specialises in spine surgery with a special interest in robotic spinal surgery. He believes in providing high-quality, personalised care to his patients. He uses the latest techniques and technologies available in his field including robotic and navigation technology. He also believes in involving patients in every aspect of their treatment so that they are in full control of their medical care.
Mr Ooi earned his medical degree in 2005 from the University of Melbourne. He continued his orthopaedic surgery training at the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) in Victoria and Tasmania before receiving his fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2017. He has a keen interest in spine diseases and went on to undertake the AOA Clinical and Research Fellowship in Spinal Surgery at Austin Health and the Combined Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Spinal Fellowship at Macquarie University Hospital in New South Wales.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Ooi also teaches orthopaedic trainees and medical students at the University of Melbourne.
He is a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
