Kathy Hyland is a dedicated registered psychotherapist and counsellor with over a decade of experience in her field. Graduating from PCI College, validated by the University of Middlesex in 2014, Kathy attained a Bachelor's degree (BSc) Level 8 and a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. She also holds a Diploma in Colour Therapy and Level 6 accreditation in Advanced Adlerian Psychology, Jungian Psychology, and Art Therapy.
Throughout her career, Kathy has gained a diverse range of clinical experiences, from her private practice in Cahir since 2014 to experience in Limerick since 2017. She currently serves as an Associate of Oakwood Psychology Services in Limerick and collaborates with various Employment Assisted Program Providers, including Inspire, Workplace Options, Telus/Lifeworks, Towards Healing, and Huntington’s Disease.
Offering face-to-face, Zoom, or telephone counselling sessions, Kathy ensures accessibility and flexibility for her clients. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in creating a non-judgmental, safe space where individuals can explore their vulnerabilities and find their inner strength. With an empathetic, holistic, person-centred, and solution-focused integrative model of treatment, Kathy strives to empower her clients to create positive change in their lives through learning psychological skills and stragegies to access and give themselves permission to realise and be their authentic best selves.
Kathy's areas of expertise span a wide spectrum of issues, including anxiety, stress, depression, addiction, bereavement, relationship dynamics, and beyond. Drawing from a repertoire of integrative and creative therapies such as CBT, SFBT, Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt, and mindfulness, she tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each client.
Kathy views counselling as a transformative journey toward personal growth and resilience. She guides clients through their challenges with care and understanding, fostering self-discovery and empowerment. By promoting self-care and self-compassion, Kathy empowers individuals to embrace their inherent strengths and live authentically, ultimately becoming the very best and proud versions of themselves.
