Dr Karine Bekhazi is an experienced Clinical Psychologist at Clemenceau Medical Centre. She has been passionate about psychology since her teenage years. After graduating from high school in Beirut, Lebanon, she left for the US to pursue her studies. She is ambitious and forward-looking and dedicated her career to the de-stigmatization of mental illness in the US, UAE and Lebanon. She specialises in helping her clients with substance use and addictive disorders, as well as couples therapy, to guide them towards mental wellbeing and emotional fulfilment.
Dr Bekhazi has extensive experience treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders using different therapeutic modalities. She has learned that even in the darkest of times there is always some light to be found, and uses this mantra to help her clients find growth and meaning in their pain. In her career, she says she is inspired by the people she is able to meet and continues to learn every day.
Dr Bekhazi completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 1999 and went on to complete her Masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of Houston in 2003. She later completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Southern California. She is also a member of the American Psychological Association.
