Dr McKertich graduated top of her class in 1991 from the University of Melbourne Medical School and completed her postgraduate training in female urology, neuro-urology, and voiding abnormalities, obtaining her fellowship in urological surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in 2000. She then further specialised in female urology, neurourology and urodynamics, prolapse and incontinence surgery. Dr McKertich has a passion for teaching and lectures at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is also involved in clinical research into incontinence. Dr McKertich is a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) and is currently the chair of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Urological Surgeons (ANZAUS).
