About Ms Kapka Nenova
Ms Kapka Nenova is an experienced Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in cataract, medical retina, and oculoplastic surgery. She graduated with a Master of Medicine degree from "M. Drinov" Medical University of Varna, Bulgaria, in 1992, before completing her Ophthalmology training at the Medical University of Sofia. Her career spans more than 25 years, including 12 years in Bulgaria as Consultant Ophthalmologist and Medical Director of Vision Medical Centre, Varna, followed by over a decade working as a Specialist and Consultant Ophthalmologist within the NHS in England. Alongside this she is a Member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Ms Nenova has undertaken two prestigious fellowships: the Orbital and Oculoplastic Surgery Fellowship at Naples Medical University under Professor Bonovolontà, and a two-year Medical Retina Fellowship at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne, where she also advanced her training in oculoplastic surgery. Her clinical expertise includes the management of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vein occlusions, uveitis, and complex cataracts. She has contributed to international clinical trials on cutting-edge retinal and laser treatments, with her work published in leading ophthalmology journals.
