Dr Lester gained his medical degree in 1993 from the University of London and went on to train in general medicine in the south of England. In 2003, he completed his oncology training in Wales and became a consultant oncologist.
He has expertise in a wide range of radiotherapy treatments, such as brachytherapy, proton beam therapy, and conventional conformal radiotherapy. He is also experienced in chemotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatment.
There is such a wide range of potential therapies for cancer that it is necessary to understand which approach is best for an individual. Dr Lester, therefore, uses cancer genomic analysis to create a personalised treatment plan for his patients. He aims to deliver evidence-based treatment and ensures that his patients understand their treatment fully.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
