Dr Jakub Lagan is a highly experienced Consultant Cardiologist with sub-specialist expertise in advanced cardiac imaging. He currently practises at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals, and sees private patients at Spire Murrayfield Hospital, Wirral, and Venturi Cardiology.
Dr Lagan completed his medical degree at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland, with part of his studies undertaken at the University of Antwerp through the prestigious Socrates/Erasmus Scholarship. He undertook specialist cardiology training in the North West of England and later completed a PhD in cardiac imaging at the University of Manchester. He also completed a fellowship at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London.
Fluent in both English and Polish, Dr Lagan provides comprehensive care in all aspects of general cardiology. His areas of expertise include breathlessness, chest pain, palpitations, blackouts, and complex conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular disease, and inherited cardiomyopathies.
He holds multiple international accreditations in echocardiography, cardiac CT, and cardiac MRI, and has interpreted thousands of imaging studies. An accomplished researcher, Dr Lagan has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has received several prestigious awards for his contributions to cardiovascular research.
