Dr Ingrid Bergson
Psychology
About
Dr Bergson qualified with her bachelor's degree from Leeds University, before completing her Doctorate in 2003 from Surrey University. Since qualifying, she has worked in numerous hospitals and with patients suffering from chronic pain and long-term health problems. Having gained over 16 years of experience, this has allowed her to broaden her knowledge in various psychological conditions, as well as develop her specialist skills. She has worked at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, as part of UCLH, the Whittington Hospital and St Thomas' Hospital.
To treat her patients, she predominantly uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She uses these approaches to help people manage their distress which affects them on a day-to-day basis. She also helps to break repetitive cycles that are causing them pain and therefore working to improve their lives. She also works with couples and families involving relationship issues.
