Als Plastischer Chirurg stehen für ihn Form, Funktion, Lebensqualität und Ästhetik im Vordergrund - Menschlichkeit, Vertrauen und eine transparente Aufklärung im Zentrum seiner ärztlichen Tätigkeit.

Prof. Hirche hat sein Studium 2006 an der Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin mit Auslandsaufenthalten in Thailand und den USA abgeschlossen. Seine Facharztausbildung absolvierte er in der Chirurgischen Onkologie in der Robert-Rössle-Klinik der Charité Berlin sowie an der BG Unfallklinik Ludwigshafen mit Abschluss als Facharzt für Plastische und Ästhetische Chirurgie im Jahr 2013.

Seit 2013 ist er in der Plastischen Chirurgie in Führungspositionen tätigt, zuletzt bis 2021 als Leitender Oberarzt und Stellvertretender Klinikdirektor der Klinik für Hand-, Plastische und Rekonstruktive Chirurgie, Schwerbrandverletztenzentrum, Universität Heidelberg, BG Unfallklinik Ludwigshafen. Seit 2021 leitet er die Klinik für Plastische Chirurgie, Hand- und Rekonstruktive Mikrochirurgie der BG Unfallklinik Frankfurt als Akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt.

Prof. Hirche führt den Titel „FACS“ – „Fellow of the American College of Surgeons“, der seine internationale Vernetzung unterstreicht, die er als Experte mit Kliniken v.a. in den USA und Taiwan sowie dem europäischen Raum unterhält.

Er ist Herausgeber und Autor zahlreicher Fachbücher (z.B. „Modern Surgical Management of Chronic Lymphedema“ im Thieme-Verlag; Facharztwissen Plastische, Rekonstruktive und Ästhetische Chirurgie, Springer-Verlag; u.a.).

Seine mittlerweile zwei Jahrzehnte überblickenden Forschungsarbeiten und Fördermittel haben zu herausragenden Veröffentlichungen in angesehenen internationalen Fachmagazinen geführt (derzeit >175 PubMed-gelistete Peer-Review-Publikationen).

Seine grundlagenwissenschaftlichen Hauptforschungsinteressen umfassen die Gewebezüchtung und Regeneration (Tissue Engineering), Lymphangiogenese, Mikrovaskularisation und die Immunonutrition von Wunden.

Klinische Forschungsschwerpunkte von ihm sind die rekonstruktive Mikrochirurgie (v.a. lymphatische Chirurgie und freie Lappenplastiken) sowie die onkoplastische Chirurgie der Brust.
