About Dr Himanshu Singh
Dr Himanshu Singh is a Respiratory and Sleep Disorders Consultant based at Fulwood Hall Hospital in Preston, where he provides outpatient assessment and management of respiratory and sleep-related conditions. Alongside his private practice, he holds a long-standing NHS role with Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he has been a Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine and Sleep Disorders since 2006. He also serves as Associate Director for the Physician Associate Programme and has contributed extensively to medical education within the trust.
Dr Singh’s clinical work covers the diagnosis and management of asthma, COPD, bronchitis, bronchiectasis, breathlessness and ventilation requirements, alongside bronchoscopy, inpatient care and outpatient clinics. He has established and led a sleep service for many years, with particular expertise in snoring, sleep apnoea, insomnia, parasomnias, sleep terrors and movement-related sleep disorders such as restless legs. His experience includes more than 16 years running dedicated sleep clinics, and he continues to support adults with complex sleep and respiratory difficulties.
He has a parallel role as Director of SoundSleep Clinic UK Ltd, providing care for sleep disorders both in person and online. His academic work includes serving as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Manchester Medical School, contributing to teaching, curriculum development and student training across several hospital placements. He previously acted as Associate Lead for Teaching and Learning for Year 3 at Manchester Medical School and is an Honorary Lecturer in Manchester University as well as University of Lancashire.
Dr Singh completed his specialist training in respiratory medicine and general medicine in the North West Deanery, rotating through four hospitals as a Specialist Registrar between 2001 and 2006. Prior to this, he worked as a Senior Registrar at Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi. His professional memberships include the British Thoracic Society and the British Sleep Society, and he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
