About
Mr. Konstantopoulos has undergone extensive specialist training in upper limb surgery, completing two fellowships: one at the Royal London Hospital and another at the Derby Shoulder Unit. His time at the Derby Shoulder Unit also included advanced training in hand conditions at the renowned Pulvertaft Hand Unit. His foundational training in Trauma and Orthopaedics was completed at KAT Hospital in Athens, Greece, where he gained experience within the largest Hand and Microsurgery Department in the country.
In addition to his surgical expertise, Mr. Konstantopoulos holds a Master of Science in Metabolic Disorders of the Bone from the Medical University of Athens "Kapodistriakon," achieved in 2013. He has been on the GMC Specialist Register since 2015 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). His professional memberships include the British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS), the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and the Medical Council of Athens.
Mr. Konstantopoulos is an accomplished academic, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is the primary investigator in the DIDACT trial, which compares conservative and surgical treatments for lateral end clavicle fractures, and a co-investigator in the RAPSODI trial, examining outcomes in different types of shoulder replacements. His dedication to education extends to his role as a faculty member for teaching days at the East of England Deanery, where he trains the next generation of orthopaedic specialists.
Mr. Konstantopoulos adopts a personalised and multidisciplinary approach to patient care. He is committed to improving his patients' quality of life and views clear and open communication as the cornerstone of effective treatment.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
