Prof Geoff Lee
About
Dr. Lee earned his primary medical qualification at the University of Otago Medical School, New Zealand, after which he undertook and completed his basic cardiology training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He then studied toward his Ph.D. at the University of Melbourne, under Professor Kalman, and wrote this thesis on the Mechanism of Atrial Fibrillation. During this time, Dr. Lee developed and launched the first human epicardial mapping software, for which he gained numerous accolades from the National Health and Medical Research Council and the Neil-Hamilton Fairley Early Career Fellowship Program.
Upon completion of his Ph.D., Dr. Lee went on to gained an international fellowship at St.Bartholomew's Hospital, London, with Professor Schilling, where he gained knowledge and expertise in ablation of ventricular tachycardia and atrial fibrillation and also regarding 3D electro-anatomical mapping of arrhythmias. Since his Consultant appointment, Dr. Lee has aimed to educate his patients and also his fellow colleagues on best practices for the management of heart rhythm disorders, and it's responsible for the Rapid Access Arrhythmia Clinic at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
