About Dr Finn Nesbitt
Dr Nesbitt is an experienced Consultant Anaesthetist working in Adult General Anaesthesia at Practice Plus Hospital, Bristol. He has a career spanning over 25 years, training and working at specialist centres across the UK and internationally. He is committed to consistently delivering the highest standards of care, with particular focus on patient wellbeing and alleviation of perioperative anxiety. Clinical Expertise Dr Nesbitt specialises in a broad range of anaesthetic techniques, including General Anaesthesia, Total Intravenous Anaesthesia (TIVA), Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anaesthesia and Spinal Anaesthesia. His experience in acute pain management spans all age groups, with a keen interest in regional techniques including epidurals, patient-controlled analgesia (PCA), spinals, and oral analgesia regimens. Training & Career Dr Nesbitt read Neuroscience and Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with a BMedSci and MBChB. He subsequently completed specialist Anaesthetic training through the London School of Anaesthesia, gaining experience at leading institutions including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Royal National ENT, Moorfields Eye Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, University College Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. He has also worked in Emergency Medicine in Palmerston North, New Zealand. His career has spanned both NHS and independent practice with Consultant posts at Homerton Hospital London, Southmead Hospital Bristol and Leeds General Infirmary. Since 2017 he now works full time as a General Adult Anaesthetist at Practice Plus Group in Bristol, where he's served as Resuscitation Lead, Lead Consultant for Resident Doctor training and shoulder/upper limb anaesthesia. Dr Nesbitt has been involved in research into anaesthetic machine design for use in developing-world and challenging environments whilst at Great Ormond Street and has contributed to High Altitude physiology research in Bolivia.
