Prof. Dr. med. Fabian Klostermann ist ein erfahrener Neurologe mit einem besonderen Interesse an der Interaktion von Motorik und Kognition. Seine Forschung konzentriert sich darauf, wie kortikale und subkortikale Hirnareale zusammenarbeiten, um das Verhalten zu steuern. Dieser Ansatz ermöglicht es ihm, sowohl grundlegende Fragen der Neurologie als auch klinische Aspekte neurologischer Erkrankungen zu untersuchen. Ein Schwerpunkt seiner Arbeit liegt auf der Parkinson-Krankheit. Prof. Dr. med. Klostermann beschäftigt sich intensiv mit den nicht-motorischen Symptomen der Parkinson-Krankheit, insbesondere mit gastrointestinalen Beschwerden, die die Lebensqualität der Patienten stark beeinflussen können. Er untersucht den Zusammenhang zwischen Ernährung, Gewicht und Medikamentenwirkung bei Parkinson-Patienten und entwickelt neue Therapieansätze.
