Dr Eslam Heggy
Anaesthetics
About
Dr Heggy began his medical career at Cairo University’s Faculty of Medicine, one of the most respected institutions in the Middle East and Africa. He graduated with honours in 2011 and went on to complete a Master's degree and a PhD in Paediatric Anaesthesia and Perioperative Pain Management. During this time, he trained under one of the region’s pioneers in ultrasound-guided interventions, contributing to the development of innovative techniques that significantly reduce recovery times, especially in children and young people.
Dr Heggy has undergone advanced training in pain management both internationally and across several NHS trusts in the UK, and he holds dual accreditation in Egypt and the UK. His professional experience includes hands-on mentorship at a Cleveland Clinic-affiliated hospital in Egypt and extensive NHS practice across four different regions. He is especially skilled in ultrasound- and fluoroscopy-guided procedures, neuro-modulation, perioperative pain control, and cancer and palliative pain management.
He currently holds a Consultant post at East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust and maintains active membership in several respected professional organisations, including the General Medical Council, the Royal College of Anaesthetists, the Faculty of Pain Medicine, and the European Society of Anaesthesiology, where he is a diplomate. Dr Heggy is known for his warm, inclusive manner and for his commitment to integrating cultural sensitivity and clinical excellence into every aspect of his work.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
