Seine Facharztausbildung absolvierte Dr. Pawelka an der renommierten 4. medizinischen Abteilung für Infektions- und Tropenmedizin der Klinik Favoriten, wo er auch als Oberarzt die Leitung der internistischen Normalstation C21 übernahm. Parallel war er in der infektiologischen Konsiliar- und Ambulanzarbeit sowie in der reisemedizinischen Impfambulanz tätig. Während der COVID-19-Pandemie sammelte er zudem wichtige Erfahrungen in der Intensivmedizin und engagierte sich auch in der Forschung.

Sein Werdegang ist geprägt von internationaler Erfahrung: Nach dem Abschluss seines Medizinstudiums 2017 absolvierte er ein "Gap-Year" mit medizinischer Tätigkeit in Uganda, Nepal und Thailand. Zusätzlich erwarb er das international anerkannte Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H) des Royal College of Physicians in London und nahm am Asian Clinical Tropical Medicine Course teil. Er besitzt außerdem das ÖÄK-Diplom für Krankenhaushygiene.

In seiner Wahlarzttätigkeit kann sich Dr. Pawelka mehr Zeit für seine Patient:innen nehmen, um Diagnosen ausführlich zu erklären, Behandlungsentscheidungen gemeinsam zu treffen und auch individuelle Wünsche in den Therapieplan zu integrieren. Durch Projekte wie telemedizinische Betreuung und ambulante intravenöse Antibiotikatherapie (APAT) bringt er innovative Versorgungslösungen in den niedergelassenen Bereich.
