About

Ms Emma Foster is a Consultant Urological Surgeon specialising in functional, neuro-urology, reconstruction, and female urology. She holds consultant posts at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Spire Manchester Hospital, and HCA UK at The Wilmslow Hospital. Her clinical focus includes primary and recurrent stress incontinence, overactive bladder, bladder cancer diagnostics, vasectomy, and a range of reconstructive and core urological conditions. As Lead for the North West Urology Sacroneuromodulation service, she plays a central role in delivering innovative treatments for complex bladder and pelvic floor disorders.

Ms Foster graduated from the University of Bristol Medical School in 2009 and completed her core surgical training in the West Midlands. She then joined the North West Deanery for her urology specialist training, earning her FRCS (Urol) in 2017. Since becoming a consultant in 2018, she has been at the forefront of developing both functional and reconstructive urological care in the region.

She has a specialist interest in recurrent utis and is very experienced managing painful bladder conditions.

In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Ms Foster is the Consultant Lead for Clinical Audit and Governance at Salford Royal, with a strong interest in quality improvement. She is also deeply involved in education, contributing to undergraduate teaching and postgraduate training for doctors and allied professionals. Her dedication to teaching and leadership is supported by postgraduate certificates in both medical education and medical leadership.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
