Emily Newby is a dedicated Occupational Therapist with a specialised focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Since qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 2007, Emily has gained experience working in various mental health services catering to both adults and children.
She has been involved in critical areas such as the Specialist Team for Early Psychosis, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and the Devon Autism Spectrum Disorder team. This diverse experience has allowed her to develop a comprehensive skill set that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Systemic Family Practice, Sensory Integration, and more recently, Non Violent Resistance (NVR). Emily is also trained in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).
Emily's approach to her work is centred around the holistic well-being of her clients and their families. She firmly believes in the importance of drawing upon the individual's experiences, as well as her own extensive skills and experience, to recognise and meet their unique needs effectively.
