Mr Edmund Ieong is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist expertise in foot and ankle surgery. He graduated with an MB BS from the University of London in 2007 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Mr Ieong’s clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of foot and ankle conditions, with particular interests in ankle arthroscopy, ankle surgery, osteoarthritis, soft tissue injuries and sports-related injuries. He sees and treats patients at Spire Harpenden Hospital and Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital.
During his specialist training, Mr Ieong worked at St Mary’s Major Trauma Centre, gaining broad experience in complex trauma care. He then spent a year in the Foot and Ankle Department at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, where he developed expertise in managing complex pathologies and reconstructive surgery. He went on to complete a specialist foot and ankle fellowship at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford and at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with emphasis on deformity corrections and diabetic foot conditions.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Ieong is actively involved in teaching surgical trainees. He is also involved with teaching courses on comples foot and ankle trauma and ankle fractures. He has published research in peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at both national and international meetings.
