Dr Lolin is a Consultant and Specialist in both Chemical Pathology and Metabolic Medicine. They hold two Specialist qualifications separately with the GMC. After qualifying through Guy's medical school and completing the usual rotations and junior posts, including obtaining an MSc under Professor Vincent Marks, Dr Lolin trained as a Senior Registrar, progressing to Deputy/Acting Head of Department at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. The hospital had close links to Great Ormond Street, which is where Dr Lolin obtained their PhD in neuropharmacokinetics of antiepileptic drugs.
Dr Lolin has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications on lipids, homocysteine, drugs, solvents of abuse, inborn errors of metabolism, various proteins in bloods, new metabolic disorders, fluid and electrolyte imbalance and disorders, and vitamins including vitamin D. They have also been involved in publications which were incorporated into various lipid NICE guidelines and became standard investigative protocols.
