About Dr Susannah Baron
New consultation - £230 Follow up consultation - £180 Dr Susannah Baron is a Consultant Dermatologist at the world renowned St John's Institute of Dermatology at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London. Her private practice is based in East Kent where she previously worked and established a Paediatric Dermatology service, prior to her current appointment. Dr Baron has a strong background in research and her current Paediatric dermatology role at St John's includes co-managing a tertiary referral multi-disciplinary service for children with severe atopic eczema where the latest treatments and trials are available. Dr Baron completed her Specialist training in Dermatology in Leeds under the guidance of Professor Cunliffe, who is an international expert in the treatment of acne. As chair of the Psychodermatology UK society she recognises the significant psycho-social impact of skin disease and it is this understanding that leads her to take a holistic approach to her practice. This is strongly reflected in her training and the expertise she has developed. She believes this is key in giving her patients the very best results and understanding about their conditions and the treatments available for them. Dr Baron's specialist interests and expertise include acne, eczema, psoriasis and other inflammatory skin conditions in children, teenagers and adults. She also has great expertise in the management of sun damage, skin cancer and mole checks. Alongside her medical treatments she is a very experienced dermatological surgeon, specialising in skin biopsies, removal of benign moles, skin tags, and injections for excessive sweating. One of her great clinical achievements was establishing a local anaesthetic surgical list for children with skin problems in East Kent. She has great experience in managing all forms of skin cancers and surgically removes suspicious lesions, skin cancers and benign skin lesions. Dr Baron has been instrumental in Dermatology medical education and co-established and was Training Programme Director for Dermatology for the Kent, Sussex and Surrey Deanery between 2008-2015. She is a regular invited lecturer for the Royal College of Physicians, the British Association of Dermatology and the British Dermatology Nursing Group and is an invited author for book chapters and a regular reviewer for the British Journal of Dermatology and Clinical and Experimental Dermatology. Diseases, Medical Tests and TreatmentsI operate on both adults and children under local anaesthetic.
