About

Dr Scot Garg trained at the University of Manchester, graduating in 1999. He then undertook his specialist training in cardiology and coronary angioplasty (PCI) in Yorkshire.

Following his specialist training, Dr Garg worked at the Thoraxcentre, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, researching new coronary stents and the risk stratification of patients treated by PCI. He received his PhD researching the latter from the Erasmus University in 2011 with a cum laude judicium. He has over 175 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at meetings nationally and internationally. He is currently a peer reviewer for several cardiology journals and is on the international editorial board for one journal. He continues to research in Cardiology and teaches other clinicians. He has been an Honorary Professor of Cardiology at the University of Central Lancashire since 2018.

In 2010, Dr Garg he became the Interventional Fellow at the Royal Stoke University Hospital and in the following year began work as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the East Lancashire NHS Trust. Through this, he has intensive experience in PCI. Essentially all of his diagnostic and interventional cases are performed trans-radially. Dr Garg performs hundreds of angiogram and angioplasty procedures each year and treats over one thousand patients annually.

Dr Garg will see patients without a referral and by appointment outside his regular clinic times.
