Dr Clarke has extensive experience in this area as a high volume operator and she fully participates in the on-call rota for the heart attack service (primary angioplasty) at Royal Papworth Hospital.
Dr Clarke has a track record in service development and transformation. She led the implementation of the heart attack service across the East Of England, is developing high quality, cost effective cardiology pathways across the region and as the joint National Lead for Cardiology for ‘Getting It Right First Time' will visit cardiac centres across the UK to reduce variation in services and ensure high quality maintained.
Through her work at the British Cardiovascular Society, over 18 years, she has been a champion for quality improvement and education. This has extended to her roles at the European Society Cardiology and American College Cardiology where she was awarded the 2018 International Service Award.
