Dr Petkar is a Consultant Cardiologist who sees patients with a wide range of cardiac disorders. He has a special interest in patients presenting with palpitations, abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias), blackouts and heart failure.
Dr. Petkar undertakes investigations and treatment (electrophysiology study +/- ablation) for patients with abnormal heart rhythms (supraventricular tachycardia, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, etc). In addition to his work in the field of arrhythmias, he undertakes implantation of permanent pacemakers (for slow heart beats), implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD for fast heart beats, ventricular tachycardia/ventricular fibrillation) and biventricular pacemakers/defibrillators (for treatment of refractory congestive heart failure).
He has been a substatntive Consultant at the New Cross Hospital for the last 10 years, and undertakes his private practice at the Nuffield Health Wolverhampton hospitals.
