About
He qualified in 1987 from the University of Birmingham, then trained in the major teaching hospitals throughout the West Midlands. He then joined Herefordshire County Hosptal where he has since developed a large number of patient services including bronchoscopy, medical thoracoscopy, pulmonary rehabilitation, sleep disordered breathing, lung cancer multidisciplinary team, allergy service, and non-invasive ventilation.
Since 1996, Dr. Ryan has been based in Herefordshire, where he has played a key role in modernising local respiratory services, introducing new techniques , and creating multi-discipinary teams to manage complex diseases. Dr Ryan has helped foster an environment that attracts top talent, leading to the establishment of several excellent clinical facilities locally, including a first-rate lung function laboratory along with numerous nurse-led services.
