He later spent time in Paris, training in the diagnosis and management of severe cutaneous drug eruptions.

Outside of his clinical work, Dr Craven was a lecturer in dermatology at the University of Manchester from 1994 to 1999. He is also a member of the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Society for Cutaneous Allergy and the European Academy of Dermatovenereology.
