Dr Maria Lax-Pericall is a consultant in child and adolescent psychiatry. She received her MBBS in Spain and trained in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry in the UK. In 2007 she completed her MSc in Epileptology at King's College London and in 2017 she was awarded a PhD. Dr Lax-Pericall has also completed a Diploma in Clinical Psychotherapy and has trained in eye movement desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR).
Dr Maria Lax-Pericall offers young people's services and sees patients with a range of conditions including autistic disorders, anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and many more. She has a special interest in neurological disorders, acquired brain injury and epilepsy.
Dr Lax-Pericall is actively involved in research and she is the author of numerous publications on psychiatric disorders in children with neurological conditions.
