Dr Lisa Alfrey is a chartered counselling psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and the British Psychological Society. Her areas of speciality are Anxiety, Professional Burnout, Self esteem, Self confidence, Oncology, Panic Attacks, Stress, Bereavement, Depression, Life changing events, Relationships and Return to work.
Dr Alfrey was awarded a BA (Hons) in Psychology before undertaking postgraduate study in Counselling Psychology at Regent's University where she was then awarded a Doctorate. She has extensive experience in the field, varying from long term therapy with adults in a community counselling setting to long term play therapy work with children in schools. She has also worked in the NHS, Harley St oncology department and for various charities around London.
Dr Alfrey uses an integrative approach, combining cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), humanistic, existential phenomenological and psychodynamic models in her therapeutic work with clients. In all work, she adheres to ethical codes of the British Psychological Society (BPS) of which she is a member.
