His proficiencies extend to preconceptual and prenatal counselling, diagnosing fetal abnormalities, performing invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and managing high-risk and multiple pregnancies. As an experienced obstetrician in one of the UK's busiest maternity units, he frequently handles complex deliveries, including caesarean sections.

Patients from across the Northwest region, particularly those facing high-risk pregnancies, fetal complications, HIV in pregnancy, or multiple pregnancies, are regularly referred to Dr. Chan. At Saint Mary’s Hospital in Manchester, he serves as the obstetric lead for multiple pregnancy and HIV in pregnancy. Previously, he held key roles at the hospital as the obstetric lead for risk management, clinical effectiveness, and clinical audit. While maintaining a strong presence in the NHS, Dr. Chan also operates a thriving private practice.
