About Dr Jonathan Bowling
Dr Jonathan Bowling is a Consultant Dermatologist focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. With over 20 years experience he is a leader in his field. He graduated from Bristol University Medical School in 1993. Dr Bowling was appointed as an NHS Consultant Dermatologist and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford Department Of Dermatology. He was Chairman of the Oxford Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and Chair of the West Thames Valley Specialist Skin Cancer MDT. Dr Bowling is the UK expert on using Dermoscopy, a technique where you use a microscope to check a skin lesion used for melanoma diagnosis and mole screening. Dr Bowling has pioneered Dermoscopy for early skin cancer detection in the UK. He has trained over 2500 doctors, dermatologists and plastic surgeons from across the UK, Europe and Australia, in the skin cancer diagnostic technique known as Dermoscopy. He has a strong interest in education and organising national and international courses on melanoma and skin cancer diagnosis. He has authored an award winning book on the subject and has contributed to many other publications. His opinion has been searched out by journalists across the country. He featured in major newspapers such as The Telegraph, The Daily Mail and The Sun, as well as lifestyle magazines such as Vogue, Tatler, Red, Cosmopolitan and the Huffington Post. He also appeared in television as an expert in his field. Dr Bowling runs a practice in Oxford and Banbury as well as reviewing patients in the Cadogan clinic in London. He offers a "friendly, holistic dermatology service".
