Dr Johnathan Chan

Dr. Johnathan Chan is a highly accomplished Consultant Neurologist practising in the London and Kent region, with extensive experience in both private and NHS settings. He operates from several esteemed locations, including HCA UK at The Shard and London Bridge Hospital, and HCA UK Canary Wharf, all part of HCA Healthcare, as well as LycaHealth in Canary Wharf. His expertise encompasses a wide range of neurological conditions, such as Headache, Migraine, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuropathy, and Parkinson's Disease. With a sub-speciality interest in Cognitive Disorders, Dr. Chan routinely sees patients suffering from Dementia and other forms of Cognitive Impairment. In 2015, he established the Cognitive Neurology Service in Kent, providing state-of-the-art diagnostic services for individuals with Young Onset Dementia and atypical dementia forms, earning recognition through a Clinical Excellence Award in 2018. He collaborates closely with local dementia support organisations and is an active member of Young Dementia Network. In 2024, Dr. Chan led a team at London Bridge Hospital to develop treatment and monitoring pathways for Amyloid Targeting Therapies, including Lecanemab and Donanemab, specifically for patients with early-stage Alzheimer’s Disease. Dr. Chan graduated from Barts and The London Medical School in 2004, receiving accolades for his academic achievements, including honours for a sub-internship in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in America. He completed his General Medical Training in London and earned a distinction for his MSc in Cognitive Neuropsychology at UCL, where he conducted significant research on the neural mechanisms underlying memory and emotion. His specialist training in neurology was undertaken at several prestigious institutions in Central London, including the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
