About Dr John Jones
Dr John Jones is a Gastroenterologist. Dr Jones attended Cambridge and Oxford Medical Schools. Following this, Dr Jones undertook specialist Gastroenterology training in Oxford and Nottingham. Dr Jones cares for inpatients and outpatients with a variety of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. Dr Jones has held a number of roles including Upper GI Cancer Lead, Family History of Colon Cancer Lead and Nutrition Steering Group member. Dr Jones also holds the position of Deputy Medical Director. Previously, Dr Jones was a Hospital Dean, responsible for undergraduate medical education in Shropshire. Dr Jones is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the School of Medicine in Keele University. In addition to this, Dr Jones is a member of the Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust Senior Leadership Team and Chair of the Medical Education committee. Dr Jones has research experience in bowel and stomach diseases and was awarded a PhD by Nottingham University. During this period of research, Dr Jones published articles in national and international journals, including book chapters. Dr Jones maintains an interest in medical regulation and holds a number of GMC associate roles. Dr Jones is also a clinical advisor to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.
