About Prof Jeremy Chataway
Professor Chataway qualified in medicine at Cambridge and Oxford Universities. Following general medical training in London, they specialised in Neurology, undertaking posts in Edinburgh, Cambridge and London. Professor Chataway was awarded a PhD from Cambridge University in genetic epidemiology of multiple sclerosis. They are an Honorary Senior Lecturer and a member of the Association of British Neurologists. Professor Chataway has a particular interest in multiple sclerosis, clinical trial work involving novel agents and advanced trial design, as well as service delivery. They were the Chief Investigator of the MS-STAT trial of high dose Simvastatin in secondary progressive MS (SPMS) reported in the Lancet in 2014, and are the Chief Investigator of the currently enrolling MS-SMART trial in SPMS. Professor Chataway was a member of the recently reported NICE review into MS. They sit on the MS Society Grant Review Panel for Care and Services Research and a number of committees for the UK MS Society. Professor Chataway also has a large general neurology practice.
